POINSETTIAS FOR CHRISTMAS ALTAR

Buy a Christmas Poinsettia to adorn the Christmas Altar for $12/ea. Dedications of the poinsettias will be printed in the Christmas Eve service bulletin. You can email your order/dedication to execcoordinator@cectx.org. Order forms will also be available on the counter in the church Narthex/Entrance on Sundays as well beginning November 30. Deadline is 12/21/24.

 

ANGEL TREE

This year’s Angel Tree will be in the narthex on November 30 and December 7.  Please take a set of tags, leave the white tag in the basket provided and return gifts (unwrapped in a Christmas bag) by December 14. These recipients are all residents of care facilities who have no family.  Please help bring some Christmas cheer to these folks.

 

SPCA CENTRAL TEXAS ANGEL TREE

Our Wish List is full of items we need to keep the shelter pets happy and healthy. The SPCA  Angel Tree will be in the Narthex as soon as the Angel Tree is finished. The tree will have paper ornaments with items from their wish list. Please take an ornament and deliver the requested item to the church by Sunday, December 21. Thank you for helping us save lives and for your generosity!

SERVICE OF THE LONGEST NIGHT, MONDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2025, 6:30 PM

One of the greatest acts of pastoral care in the Advent season is a service known as a Service of the Longest Night. It’s a worship service scheduled around the winter solstice (the longest night of the calendar year). December 21st is also the traditional feast day for Saint Thomas the Apostle and connects Thomas’s struggle to believe the tale of Jesus’ resurrection, the long nights just before Christmas, and the struggle with darkness and grief faced by those living with loss. Join us.

 

GREENING OF THE CHURCH, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2025

Come join us as we deck the halls! On Sunday, December 21, we will be celebrating a wonderful tradition - the Greening of the Church! This is a fun family activity. See you there!

CHURCH OF SOUTH INDIA CAROL SERVICE, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2025 AT 4:00 PM

On December 21 at 4:00 PM the Church of South India along with the Houston Church of South India will hold a Carol Service. All are invited!

 

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2025 AT 5:00 PM AND 9:00 PM

• Join us at 5 pm for our Family Christmas Eve Service, which will include a “No Rehearsal Christmas Pageant”. Figures from the crèche and readings from the Gospel will be on a table as you enter the church. There will be angel halos, animal masks, and other costume accessories for children and adults. All are invited to participate! Rite II with Communion.

• Our 9 pm worship service will be a traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Rite II with Communion.

 

CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICE, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2025 AT 10:00 AM

Join us on Christmas Day at 10:00 am for a service celebrating the Joy of Christ’s coming. We will sing Christmas Carols together, share the Eucharist and enjoy our community, then go out to our separate Christmas Celebrations remembering the love of God in sending us His Son. Rite II with Communion.
